Saturday 19th April is National Record Store day in the USA - Rooted has gone GLOBAL to celebrate this special day and will be dishing up free Beer and Chicken from 2pm, with all purchases over £20.00 Pimp Pimp Pimp

We believe it is right to celebrate the role that record stores play in the cultural life of local communities, especially here in Bristol now that we have very few! Record shops are an international community and platform where music has an outlet and an opportunity to grow over the long term, in a way that sincerely connects with community and culture.

In the Shop all afternoon will be King Tubbys Box from Downbeat Melody Soundsystem playing the Essential selections - sets from Peverelist; Puffin Jack & Steve Rice

Gutted I missed this - was it fried chicken. I all seriousness I always try and purchase my tunes here instead of the internet because I will always savour the in store experience.

Is this blog annual or will there be more posts soon? Would be nice to be kept up to date with events you and your staff are involved with.

Me and a few friends celebrated at the sadly now defunct Fabrik record and clothing store in San Diego California USA. Dubstep, DNB and Punk Rock were played. Beer was drank. Fun was had.Record stores have really dwindled here. To all DJ's playing off strictly .mp3s , what have you got to say for yourselves.Out to the Rooted Records crew. Bristolians, you are lucky to have a great store like Rooted.Support that.I haven't been buying much online from Rooted lately, been supporting locally, the new spot in SD is called "Feelit".Lous Records is nice also for the north county heads.Might be doing a little shopping in LA at the might Amoeba Records this weekend too.
